If you are looking for a quick and easy way to kill your chances for a satisfying love life, you can’t do better than drink too much or smoke. Even smoke a little.
These two baddies kill your love life.
Smoking is the artery killer.
It’s easy to think of cancer first when you think of the bad effects of smoking.
But, long before cancer sets in, arteriosclerosis raises its nasty head, damaging your arteries and preventing effective erections.
Women who smoke find it more and more difficult to experience a similar rush of blood into their pelvic area that supports the lubrication and sexual arousal that makes an orgasm more likely.
Smoking damages arteries, often irreversibly.
Even the little blue pills aren’t that effective with the damaged arteries of a smoker.
So, go ahead and smoke, especially if you don’t want to have sex anymore.
I know from personal experience just how hard it is to stop smoking, and I did it years ago before they started ramping up the nicotine and more addictive additives to the tobacco.
So, get the help you need to stop. Your honey will like it, and your grandchildren will have you around a lot longer.
The other love life killer is alcohol.
Too much alcohol not only interferes with your ability to make love, but pretty soon it kills your desire. You don’t want to make love any longer.
It can also lead to many other side effects, including damaging your heart and arteries and ruining your liver.
Moderation in all things is key with alcohol. If you can’t moderate, stop. Before you ruin your life, not just your love life.
Both smoking and overindulging in alcohol is particularly noxious for older bodies. Especially if they have been life long habits. You’ve had time to build up the effects in your body, and it is not always totally reversible.
The great news about changing your lifestyle habits?
You will quickly start to see some changes in your body. You may not get back to where you were before you started smoking or drinking heavily, but your body will start to change. Not only will you see great changes in your love life, many of which come really quickly, but it also takes care of two of the biggest health challenges that come with senior living: stress and sleeping difficulties.
While most people think of smoking and alcohol as stress reducers, the effects of both on your body are stimulants, not relaxants. While you think you are more relaxed, your body knows differently.
And, both interfere with getting a good night’s sleep. It seems counterintuitive, but too much nicotine or too much alcohol will make restful sleep less likely. If you find going to sleep easy, but waking up in the wee hours and then not being able to get back to sleep a common occurrence, you have the classic sleep pattern of too much stress.
Whether it’s stress or lack of sleep, you’re ability to make love is decreased.
The most effective changes to make first to bolster your love life?
